oscar-winning Christopher Guest received an honorary degree @ Berklee School of Music in late November, and of course after the formalities were dispensed with, the songs began, and selections from Spinal Tap, _A Mighty Wind_ and _Waiting For Guffman_ were aired, by a large backing ensemble comprised of students, faculty and even the president of the school (playing drums on "Big Bottom"). Three, six and seven, are my favs...

I hear Berklee is the place to go to if you're into music. It's nice to see you managed to get in on the action there.

My "best friend" attended Berklee. (He was the very first Martin Luther King National Scholarship winner back in 1969.) Back then, he played the "Flamingo" Guitar... Now he plays the trombone in a Latin band in Florida. He always spoke highly of Berklee.

Very cool Tim, I bet it would have been a fun event. #2 is my favourite - did he turn it up to 11?

thanks john and richard, yeah he cranked it out. 'hell hole' and 'stonehenge' in particular were great. that last shot was when all the bass players enrolled in the school filled the aisles for "big bottom".

john, berklee is indeed the go-to school for learning musical chops. plenty of talented people there.

Sounds sweet! So a big bottom end for Big Bottom.

I don't supposed he played Sex Farm.

unfortunately he didn't....the other 'Tap songs were the lead-off "Tonight (I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight") and "Gimme Some Money"...and "Cups and Cakes" but that was really by the Thamesmen. :D

yeah, it was a lot of fun. there were some video cameos from well-wishers, and jamie lee curtis was there as well. read my review ;)
