Tripod Mistaken for Long Gun

Sheridan College in Toronto, Ontario was put on "Lockdown" after reports of a gunman walking the campus. Forunately it was a false alarm... he was carrying a tripod. http://www.thestar.com/News/GTA/article/301809

I've also heard of people mistaking camera's for guns (maybe big scopes). Paranoia runs wild!

There was a thread several months ago from a lady who had the police visit her several times because a neighbor called her lens in as a gun or rocket or some such nonsense. Unfortunately, some paranoia is understandable given the recent shootings, but I do think people freak too easily. The problem is, of course, what if somebody doesn't report something and it turns out it was a gun.
