ok I'm on hols to Flloride in a couple of weeks and as a Family holiday with 2 small children I've been given instructions that we are not packing a case full of camera gear so the D60 & 10D stay at home and I thought why not buy a Pro 1 (second hand) .

Now I know its not a DSLR but my G3 is pretty poor at focus, so much so the moments usually gone buy the time the things woken up.

So the question - Any of you DSLR users use the Pro 1 as well and any experiences to share.

I think I'd take the 10D and a reasonable walk around lens. Unless of course that would constitue "a case full of camera gear."

I will second this. If you have a decent zoom lens (24-70mm or the like) then take the 10D and that lens.

I have the pro1, but would not take it over either of the other 2 cameras I have.

You will be dissapointed with the pro 1 unless you are taking all outdoor photos. The 10d will only add a few pounds to the load and will be well worth it.

Save your $700 and put it towards a new lens.

That's what I was thinking. If you don't have what you would consider a good walk around lens, use the money you'd buy the Pro 1 with and get one.

If this was me I'd get the 17-40 f/4 L or the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 with that money. But in reality I'd just take the 300D and my 28mm and 50mm lenses. :)
