Infact a degree is not even needed to be honest. If you have the experience.

Employers will always pick a person with experience over a degree. Hell the guys at Honda saw my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Film, television and Media studies and Sociology major and they thought, hell that has got nothing to do with Honda.

Ummmm. Can you get a job as a solicitor because you defended yourself in court? Can you get a job as a doctor because you stuck a plaster on a cut? If you have a general degree (geography, history, psycology) then who cares unless you're going for a teaching post. Try getting a job in my occupation without a degree - no chance, not even with 30 years experience. What does a art degree have to do with selling cars?

Amazing how that eraser trick.

Ain't no trick. It simply removes grease, grime and oxidation from the contacts. You can use 20 grit wet and dry if you want?

i am quite the opposite in fact.. i always tend to give people the benefit of doubt until i meet them - then i think they are a feckwit - i tell them.. on...

He bloody does you know.

please feel to ignore me - I will say this thou Matt - My life experience is quite considerable in comparison to yours - I have extensively traveled the world - i have 2 kids - 4 brothers and 1 sister - Working in a number of roles including professional sport. Gone to Uni - broken my neck and back - had / have depression - taken untold amounts of drugs - had sex - got more than one job - been arrested - had a bar fight or two - lost a loved one - had more than one girlfriend - had a threesome - been shot at - and had a bomb go off near me - and pretty much enjoy life now...

Not all UK men, just some. I have adapted the routine to include the trcik where I click my fingers from three feet away and candles light themselves. I can also wink and girls clothes fall off, it's just a shame I have a nervous twitch, visits to the old folk's home are a very unpleasant thing. :(

Hmmmmm......interesting day in here today......

All I will say is that being young doesn't necisarily mean lacking in experience. By the time I was Matts age I had had lots of jobs, sex (no threesomes though ), depression, open heart surgery, and had met the girl I wanted to marry (and I'm glad to say I am still happily married to her!)

Having a wife, kids, mortgage and everything else that goes with it sure changes your perspective though.

Everyone is different, with different experiences and view points. It took me a long time to accept that, and acknowledge that what is right for me may not be right for someone else. And the flipside of that is that just because someone expresses an opinion, doesn't mean that I have to except it.

I shall get off my soap box now.

PEACE!

5 pages of photo only posts... Do you think we could do it without editing? There'd be rules - no consecutive posts from a single user, and no more than say 5 posts per user for the whole five pages? How close to 5 would we get before someone started talking?? :)

THAT could never happen!

The beauty of visiting this thread is I don't understand half of the colloquialisms you guys use. Even though I don't know the precise definitions of many of the terms you've been using recently, I'm astute enough to know that we're not enjoying our normal dosage of warm fuzzies in here today.

I would ask that you take one of the following actions:
1. Stop the bickering, or--
2. Take it ourdoors (i.e. do your squabbling by PM and spare the rest of us the side show.)

Really, guys, this is very unbecoming. I will clean this up if I have to, but I think you'll all be less pleased with that outcome than if you do it yourself.Ahh haa, he visited, its so weird, I deliberately "mentioned" Belmondo's name this morning, and he arrives :D. I just LOVE that avitar.

How do dead folk say nice things?

Oh wait, I understand now. People do say nice things, Tony. Just more often than not, to other folks, not to the person the nice things are about :)

You're right though, I kind word, a smile (even when on the phone to someone), a simple wave - all those things go a long way in making others days brighter. And, hopefully, they pay that deed forward.

38 Degrees in Melbourne today. I hope it was raining in Auckland.

40 expected for tomorrow. F1 cars on track at 10am Aussie time. Much fun in the sun.

Picked up an Aussie Media pass (which unfortunately does not allow F1 access - or track access). A step in the right direction, given that I was told it was 'impossible' to even get one of those. More to come on this later in the year.....

Hoping to get at least some F1 shots, although will only have my crappy 90-300 lense available for the long range stuff, so it's going to be tough.

Some big lenses being let through the gates this year (in the hands of 'ordinary' spectators) such as 400mm L series lenses (300 is the limit for a spectator - depends on who you get at the gate).

Track action pretty dead today, speed comparison (F1, Supercar, Road car) not as close as it could have been. V8 won by a small margin but the F1 car was around 4 seconds behind. Will be closer tomorrow.

Kiss are playing Sunday night, been all over the media (almost as much as the GP itself), really looking forward to that.

They have Honeypuffs over here but they are called "Honey Wheets". Bizarre these Aussies.

Peace out my homeys.

Well I said something nice to someone today.

I do it a little bit, let people know when they are appreciated. Its amazing how far a kibd word can go :)

then the light slowly dawned... there IS a way - i could learn that same lesson from hearing about HIS experience! without having to have my OWN legs cut off!

life is a lot more... sparkly after realising that - even bad times there's still things to appreciate

I had a similar moment a few years back, I had a few FULL ON things happen to me personally and a few close friends die in a short space of time and just realised life is way too short. Happiness and balance is the key in life. I used to be quite ambitious and work lots, from that day on my career went downhill at about the same steady rate my personal happiness went uphill LOL. I ended a 8 year relationship i was in purely because it was comfortable, changed careers well abondoned my career, I don't have one anymore, i just have a job LOL and pretty much turned my life upside down. Never been happier. It was a REALLY hard and scary thing to do and I was very alone and a bit depressed and scared to death at first, but it got better very quickly.

I now have a good balanced lifestyle, I get 3 day weekends, own a lovely house in a very peaceful area, have a beautiful Fiance and the future looks pretty damn bright most of the time. I still forget to appreciate every day, but certainly do alot more than I ever used to.

My partner at the time couldn't understand why I was leaving her, but a year later thanked me. We had no real future together.

There is no 100% Maori be lucky to find a 1/4. Far as im concerned 4th generation make me 100% New Zealander
I haven't many with a long NZ herritage. Probably because all the travellers I met had UK or European passports so they could easily stay & work. I had to do it the hard way.

Hot dang, Sancho. Good for you. what you did is more courageous than most anyone would ever have the gut's to do.

I currently have a friend in crisis, whom I may have mentioned before is sucking the very life out of me for want of help. But ultimately isn't helping himself. And, probably as a very cruel tactic (I've already tried everything else), I have had to get hard on him. Let him know that what he is going through doesn't make him special, and that others go through far worse. He has threatened his life, but in this instance I have purely mentioned that he's just too damn selfish and cowardice if that's what he is thinking (no matter what anyone says, it's never really that bad.. and for this dude, it's not). In past instances, that sort of threat from people sucked me in severely. I now realise, is emotional blackmail. So, not anymore.... bad attention is better than no attention to some, I guess.

I don't really know where my train of thought went there.. just basically, things can change if you have the will and the determination to do so.
