Triple Solex or Stromberg?. Umm no. He had twin 45 DCOEs. Even my Sunbeam had twin 40 webers. Such a lovely sound....
I take it they are attached to the Torana?
Hmm been wondering what to do to my Pug 205 Gti. Considering just selling it, but might keep it, and change the dellorto 40's to weber 45's.
Needs a bit of a make-over.

I was there 7 times. Got engeged there & had my honeymoon.
I have only spent 1 night in Phuket. Found it to be pretty grubby & sleazy.
I was constantly being approached by people offering me services.. like "You won massage?... special body masage?"
My reply... "Umm is that a traditional Thai masage?"

"Noooo .... Lady massage wit her body".

Our mobile speed cameras are meant to be visible, too. Sorta :p
We used to have hidden cameras, but they didn't last long, and were only often on the main trunk from Auckland to Hamilton.
Police keep changing the rules as to what they can get away with.
The vans are not manned by sworn officers anymore, either. It's more often members of the public.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Funny story.. Police orientated. And true
The Police used to park their Traffic truck at the Curren Road onramp side of the bridge (headed North), to deter speeders.
This worked for months, until a driver in distress went up to said police officer in truck to ask for help. They discovered a blow up doll in the drivers seat..
I haven't seen that truck there very often anymore. And it's always properly manned now :lol:
Here, recently. Police camera van parked on the side of the road. Car stops, 4 guys get out. 3 start talking to the cop - asking questions, etc. He is impressed and gives them a full tour of the van, not noticing that one of them is 'missing'. He was unscrewing the front number plate from the cop van...
They leave, all smiles - and the boys go and attach the cop number plate to the front of their car and proceed to do several high speed passes past the van.
It was when the police department got the fines in the mail that they discovered what the lads had been up to :lol:
I think NZ are starting to go switch to the American way with unpaid fines, too.
If they impound your car for an offense, and their are outstanding fines, they'll sell the car to recoup the cost. :shock:
Oh, and don't try to leave the country if you have fines. They'll nab you at the gates.
Crikey!
Yeah - cost me $800 before I could move over here :)
Over here, unpaid fines are 'sold' off to the State Debt Recovery people - who can actually have your license stopped for unpaid fines - so you go to renew your license and are told you can't because of the debt outstanding...
WFT?.............. Hey we speak english in NZ ....................:rolleyes:
fluff in mouth......umm I wonder
Could someone please check to see if the cat is still around, somewhere...
Mods and rockers...usually Brighton seafront. Have you never seen Quadrophenia?...boy what a sheltered life in NZ!!!:lol:
LOL Sound like that is a real Westie thing - my boss has one and she goes totally mental whenever she finds a hedgehog!
As for your hedgie - it is common for sick ones to be found in the day time, but they can also be completely fine - I would just be careful with the kids touching it (just make sure they wash their hands) as hedgies are very often carriers of ringworm. They love eating cat/dog biscuits :)
Tony, do something else for a while......don't sell all your stuff, sooner or later the itch will return. I'm a bit the same at the moment. Not too interested in photography, and when I do take some pictures most of them are crap. So I just pick up the camera when i feel like it, which isn't much. I have got some great picture of the kids lately though.
I think paying $6999+149 for 5 year warrant from Auckland Camera 9 months ago was great. I've got so much usage out of my shots, and although not been selling any, they're there ready for selling or putting in books, just gotta find the right people :p
What a dork ahahah
How much was yours? $6k?
I remember people paid $3499 when the 20D came out.
I paid $2699 parallel imported! That reminds me of what a great camera it is.
Plus the 5D is worth still 2500 second hand, making that deal worth almost $6k, so nothing special.
Speaking of money, after MUCH work up till late last night at work earnt the next big quarter bonus. Another 1DIII? :lol: - Really though, I think I'll take a small Europe trip and have a couple weeks in between jobs, leaving around end of June (have to wait till bonus paid out late May, before resigning, or I forfeit it), and getting a new job late July.
Where's the problem in getting a strong image by whatever means? It's not like we're paying for vast quantities of film, or even developing & printing. The cost per Mb of hard-drive storage has nosedived so I don't see any issue really.
The point the guy is making is based around design and composition. Are we nothing more than point and shot photographers with flash gear or are we craftsmen with sharp tools.
Look at the last photo you took/posted. How much planning went into it or did you just point and shoot? Did you think about the DOF and adjust to get the desired look or did you just point and shoot using a stock "F8 and be there"mentality?
i metered for a specific area of the sky so as i would get the best representation of what i could see, i focused at f8 on the horizon then left it alone because a fuzzy horizon would have ruined my shot, i framed it to get the bow off centre and some of the darker purple coming into the frame with the taller building near the corner... and then i changed my lens after a few of those and took some like this:
since you asked... :rolleyes:
Anyone have any idea how much a reverse lens mount is and where to find one? One that mounts directly onto the body.
are you looking for something that will stop down properly? you could probably bodge up something out of a couple of auto extension tubes cabled together to get the apeture working properly but it may not be the prettiest thing in the world.
