i have a 28-135 IS USM lens..and the glass side of the lens is loose (thanks too my wife droping my bag ..she now must die )the lens moves side to side now ..spoke to canon they say it can be repaired, but my question is when repaired will it be good as new .should i be worried on its performance ..keep in mind i only had the lens two month's..has anyone here had a lens repair if so how did it come out..also there is a local shop that does canon warranty.. or should i go straight to canon...
thank you

For what it's worth: I paid Canon $116.00 to fix a broken focus ring
on my 24mm lens, so you can figure it's going to be expensive. And it wasn't
you wife's fault. It was yours.

when the lens is repaired it will be as good as new!
and it's a hard lesson to never let someone else carry your bag

A Canon lens repair is generally 20-40% of the new cost of the same lens. But afterward, it is 99% as good as when it was new.
