I currently have a slingshot 100AW and dont find it too comfortable and think i would prefer a backpack/rucksack style bag such as a Tamrac Expedition 5. To anyone whos had both or seen both how do the 2 compare in size and storage.

I had the slingshot 300 and now have the expedition 5
I can tell you I have the tamrac packed with 5D with 24-105, xti with 70-200 F4, 35L, 135L, extension tubes, 1.4x TC and a whole bunch of accessories and the weight is not an issue. The 300 wasn`t comfortable with all my gear but on the tamrac I barely feel the weight. It is a much bigger bag then the 100 AW though

The 5 is huge! My Expedition 3 held more than my 100AW. DOn't get the 200 either but take a look at the Fastbacks. Lowepro's backpack/sling hybrid.

I've got the Slingshot 200 and the Expedition 5 and I'd really say they are different bags for different purposes. The 5 is way bigger than the 200, and holds more gear. I use the Expedition when I want to carry my whole kit, and all the goodies, but it is a little bulky, and heavy. The slingshot is great for taking a couple of lenses, and is much easier to work out of as you don't have to take it off to access your gear.

I wouldn't say the 5 is huge. My 5 is completely full up with the kit in my sig plus storage device and filters and such. I had to take out my binoculars to get my 580EX II in. Its an absolutely fabulous bag though, very protective :D

You can quote, doesn't make it true. ;)
