Ever since I got bludomain, I've been charged $49.95 twice from my credit card with. It's displayed in my online statement as "INTERNET DOMAIN NAME"

I was first charged about a week after I purchased my site, and again when I requested to go live. When I submitted the go live, I did decide to change my domain.

But I don't understand -I had purchased both my domains thru domain.com. And besides that, $50 for a domain name??? Isn't that insanely expensive???

Their phone support ticket is disabled. Lets see how long it takes for an email response..

Do you mean for the domain name or for hosting?

bludomain has always looked like a ripoff to me. For my website, I paid $200 for Photocart (the software that runs my site), I th en paid for my domain for 5 years through Yahoo, and it was on special for like $20. My hosting is through ICDSoft and it's about $50-60 per year.

yeah it's for the domain only. Hosting is $100/year. It is very expensive --seems like you got a great deal!

You can get a domain for 9.99 from godaddy, and that isn't even the cheapest place. I still can't see how bludomain stays in business. They are milking people for 600-1200 to start a website, then it looks like another 100-150 per year. I got started for $260, and my website costs $60 per year. And they aren't even good websites. Sure, they are flashy (pun intended) but 100% flash websites suck. Maybe I need to get in the website business instead of the photography business.

I second GoDaddy.com - $9.99 for a domain is a good price and I've always been
happy. I've bought somewhere in the area of 75-100 domains from them over the
past 5 years. I also have reseller hosting for bout $14/mo. It honestly has the best
support and uptime I've ever seen. I've been a customer there for bout 3 years or so.

I used them & GoDaddy for my web design/hosting business and now I still
have them for my personal needs. Sounds like Bluedomain is ripping you off :(

It's why I use hostdog.net - cheaper hosting is $6.95/month and domains are $20, but you get a ton of features on your hosting. When I went through godaddy and selected all there add ons it was about the same as hostdog but only 1/4th the features...wasn't hard to choose.

I agree with you all that $50 for a domain is WAY too much.
But my real problem is that I've already purchased my domains thru domain.com for $9/year.

Why would I be charged the $50 from blu???

Well... I've sent them an email...

Well, for a company that charges $400 for a template and $50 for a domain, there can only be one reason they charged you, because they are greedy and prey on people who don't know better. I've also heard their customer service sucks and is really slow. Good luck getting your money back.
