Hi domedia and welcome to the Performing Arts group.

The blurriness on your photos is caused by your shutter speed setting being too slow for the conditions which has caused motion blur and camera shake.

I see you are using a 30D - don't be afraid to jack the ISO up to 1600 or 3200 if you need to. I had a peek at the EXIF data for a couple of the shots and saw you had the ISO set at 100 and also had aperture settings around 5.6 and shutter speeds around 1/13.

By upping your ISO and opening up the aperture you can get higher shutter speeds which will really help your photos come along.

What lens were you using?

I agree.
I use the 30D in the sporting arena
at ISO 1600 and as long as you don't
crop much, the grain size is ok.
But the trade is for action-stopping
shutter speed.
Good shooting.

The pictures are not the best but it reminds me......had the chance to see her in Flint Michigan about a year ago. She was fantastic. Her and her husband Spider......she still can really sing!

Welcome to the forum. Dont take the above as people not liking your pictures as there is lots of people who will offer excellent advice on these forums as many are working in the industry :)

As black shadow said avoid using iso 100 in low light conditions as it has cause you to use a very slow shutter speed hence the blur. Crank it up to 1600 the 30D is not overly noisy there.

What lense are you using? I would reccomend investing in a 50mm 1.8 prime these are very cheap and will work well in low light conditions. I personally use spot metering set to one shot. Keep my iso around the 1250 to 1600 mark open the apeture up full and use a 1/160 - 1/250 sec shutter speed.

The faster the shutter speed the better as you will freeze the action and avoid the motion blur and camera shake :)
