all comments much appreciated ,desaturated then used history brush , any other way of doing this.

I like the flower against the Black and White background. It really makes the flower pop. The only thing is the black above the flower is distracting, and I think the photo needs some cropping to get the flower out of the center of the photograph.

thanks nwagirl , yeh krystal could do with trying to clone out above flower and maybe crop a little off the right , will have a go at the cloning later.

When I saw the subject line, I thought [sigh] another manifestation of a gimmick.
I stand justly accused of prejudgment. This is actually quite nice. My only gripe might be that, if it were my photo, I would crop it a little more tightly all around. The flower is on the correct side as it appears to be "looking" into the photograph rather than out of it. Flowers have faces, don't they?
