anyone familiar with either model? i cant see the benefit in the HP for the extra $1,000 or is the grafix card that much better? will be purely for taking my work with me, any opinions would be fantastic.

I trust Toshiba. I don't trust HP any more (though I used to swear by their laptops in the early Omnibook days).

cool, i know the brand (toshiba) i just dont know much about their reliability and experience in the market.

Our oldest Toshiba Pentium (without a number, subtitle, or anything else after it) is still running after at least 10 years. Not that it's up to much of what we run today. I've had at least 2 HPs die in the interim; we currently use 3 Toshibas and a home-built desktop PC; I've hauled the M205 and Libretto all over.

picked it up last thursday, damn its good, my only issue is i guess the monitor but i can live with that, issue is its rather glossy and needs to be calibrated, but the pc is damn fast, ill get some more ram but other than that i could use it as my desktop for sure :)
