I am trying to learn how to use adobe image ready. I want to take 3 pictures and link them together using layers. My two problems are I can only get layer #1 not 1,2,3 and how do I make the image larger ie. I'm trying to stuff 3 pictures into one frame....how to get a bigger frame? Thanks for any help you can give me. With any luck I can post the results for you.

How about a little more specific details on exactly what it is that you're trying to do? What do you mean when you say you want to link them together?

image -> canvas size?
in your 3 image example with a wide (as opposed to tall) panorama... leave the height the same, and multiply the width by 3.

FYI: I bought a magazine a few weeks ago--Digital Camera. It had a free cd on it containing RealViz Stitcher 3.1. I bought the mag after repeated failures of Canon Stitch software to give me acceptable panoramas--partly my fault for not exactly matching exposures from shot to shot.
Well, Stitcher 3.1 promised "image equalizing" ANd boy does it deliver. It needs a lot of computer power, but the results were beyond my wildest expectations.
Well worth the $13 for the magazine.

try using photoshop instead of imageready...look at the size of one image..and you'll need to figure out how wide the final image will be. Open a new file, using that width, and the height to whatever the height of your photo is, set the resolution to at least 180 if you are planning to print it out. Then import each image into the file..each image will automatically be brought in, on a separate layer.
Is this what you were looking to do?

Ok I've got that sorted out now. Thanks for all the great help. Still one minor issue. In my panorama the tones of sky are slightly mismatched. How do I blend them together to make the line disappear?

RealViz Stitcher 3.1 blends all the pix so sky (and everything else) matches.

I'm heading over to Chapters today so I'll try to pick up that magazine. Thanks for the suggestion.
