So, I go to San Francisco State University. Parking is limited...but I manage. Today, I got back from an excursion to the studio I assist at. There is usually parking on a flat street outside my dorm building. Today...there would have been plenty of parking if the people that had parked there had pulled up instead of leaving 6 feet in front and 6 feet behind them....so there could have easily been at least 7 extra spots a long the street...but oh well...So I find a spot along the street that is on a slight downward slope...nothing steeper than maybe 3 degrees. I put the parking brake on...put it in reverse (the Front was pointing downhill and I drive a 5 speed) get out...and go to my dorm room...I came back 4 hours later to move the car (they do street cleaning on that street on Tuesday mornings way before I wake up) and there is a parking ticket on my car. Apparently I didn't have my wheels turned in. Now in the unlikely event that my parking brake failed...my transmission would have stopped the car quite well. But since the meter militia had nothing better to do today than check for cars with wheels turned improperly...I now get to pay 35 dollars. </Rant>
