thanks fireplug. much appreciated. the picture isn't actually that sharp but that's not what street is about :) don't worry if they're not technically perfect, just shoot moments.

thanks all. do you think it might benefit from a proper b&w conversion? contrasty? the one i posted has a sepia soft treatment.

I think it's fine as it is, and I see a slight vignette which gives it a nice look. But hey, why not...Add a more noticeable vignette convert to b & w with more contrast and see how it looks, it would probably look as good or maybe better, who knows!

Very very good, so sharp and clear, love the first and the light in the second is beautiful.

Fantastic shots! I love the composition of both (#1 especially). If I were you though I would go back into photoshop and have a look at the white balance. I think if you boosted the white point you could make this shot completely pop. You might need to mask out some areas though as not to lose the sky. Great Job though!

Both really nice shots, but the first one is great. It would be interesting to see an alternative higher contrast conversion, as you mentioned.

i love them both equally. i think each tells a very different story, but equally captivating. i like the sepia in the first, although i do think it might benefit from just a bit of contrast, some dodge and burn, etc. but truly - terrific photos.

Excellent captures, especially the first one. Seems a bit dark though, would love to see this in pure B/W.

I love the child with the bird. The amazement of the bird in flight while all the others are just flocked around him. Great shot.

The first shot is amazing and does tell the story very well. The second is also good but, without the remark, would not suggest that he was having a tough day.
