Just got a new computer with Vista 64. Installed the software disk with utility, DPP, etc. When I plug in the camera (30d), it doesn't recognize, so utility won't launch. And if I plug the CF card directly into the media reader on the CPU unit, it downloads the files, but can't find any of the images since they're RAW. Doesn't even store them in a folder.

Anyone know what to do?

I guess I'll have to download to my old system in the meantime. What a pain.

Is the camera set to communicate with the PC?

not sure what you mean?

I installed the software that was included with the camera. Plug the USB cable, turn it on, and it goes to launch the Windows Photo Player, which is no good since they're RAW files. The PC is picking up that a camera is plugged in, but EOS Utility is not picking it up. It should launch automatically, but even if I launch it manually, it doesn't pick up that a camera is plugged in.

Did some searching on the other forums. Looks like there is an issue with Vista recognizing RAW images. Also with Utility and 30d.

I should have bought a MAC : )

Oh well, I can still use my old lap top and import on DVD or CD. Just an extra step and pain until they figure this out.
