I desperately need one or two more CF cards for my A-80 & I only have the small one that came w/ it when I bought it... So, does anyone have a good source for inexpensive CF cards they'd be willing to share?
Thanks :)

www.newegg.com has some of the best prices I have found on memory cards. I also found a sale at bestbuy.com a few weeks ago and got a Sandisk Ultra II 512Mb card for $60. I did an in-store pickup and had the card the same day.

I've been using the ATP 1gb 60x with my A70, it works great and is very fast for saving video. Only $80.

I'll second newegg.com
They have great prices, and I never had problems with them.
As a matter of fact, I just bought a 1GB card for like $90 last week.

newEgg has some 1GB cards for like $60, but they're slow.

Yes they're slow but with most camera's on this forum you won't notice it anyways.

my next question was going to be about the various speeds of the cards... so I'll ask this instead: Are there any brands I should stay away from?

I just got a Sandisk 256MB Ultra-II for $35.75 w/ free 2d-day air, from ZipZoomFly.com. There are slower, cheaper ones, but I can take more shots (up to 10, vs. 3 or 4) at 2fps in continuous mode with the faster cards in an A70.

512 Kingston Card for $20.00

Very cheap. Slow, but doesn't matter in your camera. My wifes uses same card in her A80 and it works fine. Paid almost $100 a year ago.

I got the Lexar 40x 1 GB with a $30 rebate to make it $61 shipped. Shipping is free but there is a handling fee of $4. No tax. The only caveat is Ecost is all sales final. www.buy.com came in at $88 total with a $30 rebate but it would take a week with free shipping. I needed it for a trip to India next week and needed to make sure it worked before I left.

Just found a 1GB Sandisk card for $75 at Costco. Canon EOS 20D is on the way and I'm gonna need lots of space for BIG files.

Is it compatable? Too slow? Thanks.

Won't fit an S70. It's the "CF Type 2" (5 mm thick) form factor. The S70 takes "CF Type 1" (3.3 mm thick).
