Hi All,
It it possible to have my library in DNG format within lightroom but also keep a synced JPEG version for my wife to view.
She is constantly complaining that she can't email the pics of her choice etc.
Ideally I'd like to keep a synced JPEG library on my mac that she can access from her laptop, I've got the file sharing sorted, but no way to automagically keep the JPEGS synced, I have to export each folder manually which is a chore.
all the best,
J

You could create a whole new catalog for her. This does however seem like a waste of disk space. Train her to do a develop on the pictures she wants off of your catalog file.
The other option would be to create a subfolder off of your DNG folder with the JPG's in it. You could then import this into your existing library.

I know what you are saying. I shoot in RAW and prefer to keep all of the files on disk (stored on a network drive) in a RAW format. This is fine for me because I have the programs to view them. However my wife doesn't, and she normally looks at them via Windows Explorer. So before I just had to create 2 copies on disk, one on RAW and one in JPG. It was a waste of space. When I bought her a new laptop for Christmas, I put Windows Live Photo Gallery, and used Canon's RAW codec so that she can now view the pictres natively in their RAW format and I no longer have to keep two copies.
You can do the same, and install Windows Live Photo Gallery and the RAW codec, and she should be able to natively view the pictures in their RAW form.
(I am assuming she has a Windows PC for her laptop)
