Picked this up off another forum.

Amzanig huh? yaeh and I awlyas thought slpeling was ipmorantt.

It has. This was discussed at length on a newsgroup I hang out in occasionally. Understanding the misspellings depends heavily on the order of the letters in each individual word and the way our minds parse it.
