Im looking for a circular polarizer, but am unsure of which one to get.

i have these lenses:
16-35 f2.8L
tamron 28-75 f2.8
50mm f1.4

all of them have uv filters on them.

i am most concerned about the 16-35, will a regular thickness uv filter +regular thickness polarizer create a border in the picture at 16mm?

technically i only have to get the biggest filter size, and then get step up rings right?

would you guys reccomend getting a slim filter? or would a regular one do fine?

also, i looked at these two:

The best is this:

If you can swing the difference, there is no reason NOT to get a slim one.

hvstar sells it a bit cheaper too:

you shouldn't stack filters, especially on nice glass like your 16-35. And yes it will cause vignetting (or borders):-)

ah yes, thats the word. brain fart :P

im not looking to spend a fortune. i have a b+w uv mc uv filter on the 16-35 already and really like the build quality of the filter.

what is the difference between the kaseman and a regular mc?

Whatever you end up with, check out hvstar.com before you buy anything. Most of us who know about it buy all our filters there as they have dramatically better prices for their stuff than just about anywhere else.

i would recommend the Hoya DMC Pro1 Digital Filter....it is really low profile and designed especially for ultra-wide lenses like the 16-35

i paired it with the digital version of the UV, you can usually find them online around 150-160 for the pair.

will do, it looks like they sell more universal accessories than anything, no lenses or products of that sort. is what i am seeing correct?

also, are the quality differences between polarizer brands that significant? ie:hoya b+w, canon, etc.

Hoya Pro1, Heliopan SH-PMC and B+W MRC/Kaesemann are the best you can buy.

Hoya Circular-PL is good. using it at the moment, no complaints here.

Yea they are mostly just the most popular filters and some filter accessories.
Hoya Pro1, Heliopan SH-PMC and B+W MRC/Kaesemann are the best you can buy.
Ditto on that.
