Maybe a little dark? Any thoughts?

I can see what you're trying to achieve. You've lost too much detail in the dark areas but that can be fixed..

With regard to composition; well since the light bulb dominates the photo, I would suggest putting it at the intersection of thirds (Rule of Thirds) instead of dead center.

It would be really cool with the light on. That would be different!

I don't think its too dark at all.

On the pack of cards (or similar sized box) the light details can be seen, the key is half obscured and the bayonet end of the bulb are obscured by the shadows giving a great sense of dynamic range of light you captured. Unfortunately the object to the left to me is only a distraction and detracts from the otherwise excellent sense of something hiding and lurking in the shadows, despite the bright illumination given to part of the bulb

I agree. I couldn't figure out what i didn't like about this shot (mostly the reason i post things for critique) Thanks a bunch, i will have to try this one again.
