cracked ballhead

The ball of my Bogen 488 RC2 is cracked. The crack starts at the top (where the stem screws into the ball) and goes down 3/4 of the way to the bottom of the ball. The other side is ok (for now)

Still works ok for now but I am afraid the crack will grow and continue to the other side and just break the ball into 2 pieces.

Does anyone know if the ball can be replaced? Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

If it is still under warranty, I would contact Bogen for a replacement.

Thanks!! I contacted them for a replacement ball and got one on the way.
$20 bucks (for anyone that was curious)
