DPP or X ? for RAW conversion

There is a lot of software in the market to convert RAW files.
Recently I downloaded DPP and read that the software of DPP is finetuned for Canon Eos systems.
I wonder if I should do my workflow in DPP or should I use Lightroom or Bridge ?

Would you be so kind to let me know and advice what's the best to do ?

Start with DPP. After you have worked with it for a while you will be better able to decide whether it fulfills your needs or if you need the extra features that would justify buying Lightroom.
