First off, I picked one of these things up tonight, and WOW, they are a blast to play with. Now, I haven't had a chance to look at the few shots I snapped with it, but flash bouncing can create some very nice shadow effects.

So, on with the questions...

1) Whenever I move the flash from it's central location, either up or down, there's a small servo motor sound on the inside...as if it's moving something whenever I start to move the flash. Is this normal? Or is it abnormal?

2) That flash weighs a good bit, and that shoe on my DRebel is so small. Even when you clamp the flash to the shoe, the shoe is still takin the brunt of the weight of the flash along with the jostling while changing flash angles. Is it built sturdy enough to be able to hold up to all that handling of the flash?

Thanks

1) Yes this is normal - In bounce modes the flash head zooms to its widest setting for optimum spread of the bounced light.

2) Yes. That's what it was designed for. :)

Nevermind, I completely understand now. Just had to read the instruction booklet. Amazing what kind of useful information you can find in those things.

Thanks
