I attended a fur protest this past weekend, as an assignment for my photojournalism class.
Which picture do you guys think is best, from a "news photo" perspective?

Either the first or third works best to me.... can't decide between the two.

Stewx,
Another vote for #3
It seems to isolate the subject and sign best and yet with the subject holding there head goes with the "OUR PAIN IS THE SAME" sign :)

Being a journalist myself, I would use number 2. That shot shows interaction between protesters and the public. If I were an editor I would choose this one to run with the story about the protest.

I like #2 because she has the hat on the costume, and you can see the sign for the fur/leather store.

I just looked through your 3 photos, what a shame this happens :cry:
These are only my non expert thoughts;
#2 jumped right out.
# 1 and 3 look like despair that no one is listening.
#2 shows that the message is reaching the people, and the protest is being noticed.
Just my thoughts.
All very good captures though.

I like the 2nd one best, puts it in context being outside a fur store, the other 2 could be anywhere, looks a little washed out though, would look better with a boost in contrast I reckon.
