I remember when I first heard about them when I was in high school. I still want to see them live, has to be quite a show. Where was the show at?

Treamont Music Hall in Charlotte NC. My sister is the house photographer there, she hooked me up with a pit pass :)

THAT IS AWESOME:). Best place to be in at a GWAR concert is right up front in a white t-shirt.

Haha, sweet. GWAR always puts on quite a show!
By the time they're done you can always tell who's been up front ;)

Haha...
I looked at the 6th shot and saw the support beams and thought to myself "man, that place is set-up like Tremont"...
Then I looked at the yellow insulation on the ceiling and thought "damn, it's JUST LIKE Tremont..."
I'm such an idiot at times.

I can't believe it ... even I know who GWAR is! But, Dude, you need to be right up front!!! OTOH, I'm otherwise ignorant ... what country?

Some nice images from the kit lense. It does look like flash was used to be honest.
If you are going to shoot more gigs buy a 50mm 1.8 can picks them up for buttons these days. Will make gigs alot easier to shoot. :)

In college I worked at a concert hall in Fort Collins, CO and worked a GWAR show once. I was working the barricades and was right in the center if the stage in front of the lead singer. I had never heard of them or had any idea what I was in for but after work I went to a kegger dyed from head to toe like a multicolored smurf...

Yeah I did use a flash. And I just got a 50mm but have not had an opportunity to use it at a show yet. I would have stayed in the pit for GWAR but i don't think my camera would be working anymore hahah.

You'd have too look out for stuff like that, and GWAR likes to soak the crowd with various fluids.

Get a gallon sized ziploc bag and some electrical tape next time so you can seal it up. It can be done :)

Or shoot with a 1DMII or 1DMIII and L lenses ... they're all sealed for wet work!
