I'm kind of excited, this is really my first post here with pictures! The only time I really have a chance to get out and shoot is at night, and it's absolutely freezing here. Anyway, these are some the sights I see on a regular basis but from a different perspective than walking along the streets.

This is (obviously) HDR, dorms on the right on and Biological Science buildings on the left:

This is one of the many cranes poking through AA's skyline. It was hard to save this one as I had underexposed and I didn't want to ruin the sky's colors too much:

The clock/bell tower, I don't know what else we call it:

Probably one of the most familiar sights to me as I walk pass it every day:

Nice job. I was there on Saturday for an engagement shoot. I would have loved to spent more time -- lots to photograph.
Good job!

Great shots, man! I've been meaning to get some of those around my campus. What is HDR?

thanks a lot guys. when I got home last night i found that my cable release and two new batteries had arrived, so i'm excited to do some longer exposure shots.

pmurph, HDR is high-dynamic range which requires three shots at different exposures (i used +2, 0, -2) and then using a program to mix them all together (photomatix or PS or you can use a plugin for the GIMP). it ends up giving a more balanced picture in the shadows-to-highlights department, so nothing ends up blown-out or underexposed.

thanks again guys! i'll probably have more to add in the coming nights.

Some nice shots, in spite of the crummy weather

Nice shots...I used to work at the LSI building. You should have taken pictures of the BSRB. I've seen a few HDR's of the BSRB on flickr.

I like the first one - an idyllic sky with moon and stars, offset by manmade pollution. Thanks for sharing.

hey thanks everyone! ancientsanskrit, would you be talking about the building with the giant Pringle stack in the front yard?

Here's another one, a little different, that I grabbed from a friend's apartment balcony of Geddes Ave.
