Hi.
First of all i like EE a lot . One of the best about.
Anyway im having some minor problems.
Thumbs are OK.
MIcrothumbs are OK.
I cant get the normal images to come up.
I can get them if i put them in the root directory.
How do i change the path to a folder withing the root.
Any help would be greatly appreaciated.
Keep smiling

When you can browse to the normal size photo like

http://photography-on-the.net/gallery/D30_photos/medium/CRW_8568_RT16b.jpg

and you see the photo in your browser, then the size path for that photo size is simply the same URL but without the filename:

http://photography-on-the.net/gallery/D30_photos/medium/

If your browser gives error messages when trying to view the photo with a direct link as above (with filename), EE can't view it either. Common errors are that folder permissions are not correct, or that the folder is outside www root of the server.

That means you don't have any size paths selected for that photo. I have made this error more humanlike in next version. Try using "path editor/path functionality analysis (batch)", it shows very clearly how the photos are set up and what problems there are.

Hello again.
I have put in the size paths and still nothing shows.
No matter what i do EE looks in the EE root folder.
I have read the forum and the FAQ's but am still at a loss as to why I cant get it to work.
Is their anyone with a brain that works that would be willing to have a look for me.

Mail me pekka@photograpy-on-the.net the address to your input folder and I'll have a look.

Pekka, i am having the same problem. When I right click on the missing picture the properties shows the following http://../../gallery/maine7793.jpg. The path editor shows the correct path http://../../gallery/normal/maine7793.jpg

Can you help?

Do you have one of the size paths for that photo set to variable "default"?

Check that you include trailing slash to path.

Add an image name to a path and paste it to browser address line - can you see the photo?

These thing can be always solved, but it's quite difficult if I don't see the real photo paths and size paths. If you like me to check what's the problem, mail me the address to the editor and tell me one filename that has been already uploaded.

PS. mail using your own mail program to pekka@photography-on-the.net - this server blocks some forum mails so they may not reach the receiver. I'm moving this to a new server quite soon...

Solution was found: I checked swampducks editor and the reason was that size paths were not saved. Same problem as in http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7789
