Anyone know if Canon will honor warranty work, if you have a receipt, but dont' have the warranty card, and it wasn't sent in?

It's my understanding that as long as you have the receipt for the camera and it's within the warranty period then you are covered.

I was on phone with Canon regarding this the other day, I purchased a 420EX and could not find any serial number to register with so I called them and was told that Canon don't care too much about the registration and will ask for a copy of the invoice/receipt.

I hope this helps.

For a real-life data point, Canon has repaired two of my lenses in warranty and required nothing more than my sales invoice and receipt... one lens was purchased locally and the other purchased on-line.
