Lens hood warehouse?

Does Canon have a big warehouse of abandoned lens hoods somewhere? What happens to all those non-L lens hoods nobody wants to buy? Where do the ones people actually purchase come from? Is security tight there? Would you feel disgusted if you found out you're using a lens hood that was rejected by someone else? Can they be used for other things like cup holders or hair pieces? Does the box it comes in cost more than the hood to make? Just some random thoughts of the day.
