Good shot but not a hoverfly - it's a bee fly like the one below but without the long proboscis - bee flies always hold their wings like that at rest.

we have deer flys here in FL, and yellow flies, it seems somewhat like that..slightly different color though, so im not sure
they bite the mess outta yu. thats all i know.
