Thanks Lloyd :)
Damian,. yes they are Huge!
We have a more local species called the "Great Horned Owl" that I spent my life beliveing was the largest owl species in the world... as it turns out,. it is the second largest! (they used to fly over my head beneath the darkened canopy of the neighboring pine forest after dusk... I was about 8-10 years old and the owls wingspan dwarfed me!)
Rich, thanks
This was taken with the 1D MkII and a 70-200mm f/2.8
Thanks cmM,
It seems fotopic nad this forum are not going to get along any more.
I'm seriously going to have to find another host.. but what a pain!
Jay,

:D CDS,
Great Shot :!: Scottes showed us more than one; I'll bet that you have a lots more :D
You guys need to take a trip to the Florida Gulf Coast for bird shooting.
I've been trying to get some shots of two large Osprey who sometimes roost on the masthead of my neighbors sailboat. Can't get close enough before they spook.
I can feel it costing me more money (100-400L); I just can feel it
