Stand Used As A Boom

hi everyone,
after useless searching for boom arm localy and at bh, i found a decision - with clamp i can use my stand as a boom. after SkipD tip i ordered manfrotto pivoting clamp at bh (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/256009-REG/Bogen_Manfrotto_123_Pivoting_Boom_Clamp.html) and voi la! old mouse pad prevent stand from scratches and smoothes tighting. i love its wide smile!

so what are you putting on the pivot end to extend the arm far enough?

well, i tighten clamp at stands lower section base so i can extend an arm of two sections long. oh, its bloody heavy constuction.
