i see from canon's schedule at explorers of light web site (feb dates.... http://www.usa.canon.com/dlc/controller?act=EventCalendarAct (http://www.usa.canon.com/dlc/controller?act=EventCalendarAct) ) they have a hour rick sammon lecture (i assume thats what it is) as it's one hour and at science musuem in connecticut this sunday.
it only costs $8.50 for musuem entry and the lecture is free. it's like 20-30 minutes from me so thinking of attending it as i have never done anything like it before.
just wondering if anyone has ever attended one of these and any comments they may have on it?
thanx

I went to a Rick Sammon lecture last year for $10. Well worth it! I assume Canon subsidizes the cost. And you get to try some Canon bodies and lenses.

my understanding after calling the musuem is that it is a slide show/lecture...no equipment to be presented but he does briefly go over how he setup each shot.
i didn't expect much (as far as going over equipment etc.) in such a short time frame so if presented ok i imagine it to be well worth the drive with regards to his work which to my eyes always seems to reflect a bright quality to it.

great time and well worth the price of admission to the digital museum...all this week are some awesome things available...
a few days for mac users and the software like garage band and audition for the sound people.
but rick puts on a great presentation...so glad i went.

I've viewed some of his video lectures and have several of his books. He's very informative, interacts well with his audience...I've learned a lot from him & would love to attend his lectures IRL if given the opportunity.
