How to Upload old pictures to G9

I just got the G9, I love it, I know how to download pictures from G9 to computer after I took pictures with the G9, but I try to upload pictures from my computer to G9 that I have problem with, I had sony camera before, their pictures are in different file name, they also jpeg files, I try to move the pictures to SD card and view with G9, it doesn't work, anyone know how or why???:eek:
by the way, Hi, this is my first post. I just find this site 4 days ago after I got the G9 about a week ago.:D

I can not see a reason to upload images from another camera to your G9, but it will work only if the SD card is correctly formatted for the G9 and the folders and file names are legal names for it.

:evil: You sent me to save Sony images on a CF card to view them on my Pro1 and it worked. :p

The procedure was as follows:


Format the card in the camera.
Using a card reader, save the Sony images to the images folder of the card (a folder with a name similar to 100Canon)
Rename the Sony images to some Canon legal names (i.e. IMG_0001.jpg)


I am not sure if this can be done without a card reader.

Learn thoroughly the file system conventions for the G9 before starting the experiment (User Guide page 159).

CAUTION:
You can alter the actual image numbering sequence of your camera if you do not understand how the folders/files conventions work.

It is better to fully understand all the camera features and functions before this type of experiments :)

thanks for the info, I will try it on my day off, it is no big deal to it now, sometime I upload my pictures for my friends sd card, but I might just go get a jump drive, it might be easier, to transfer pictures in between friends.
