Never fear! The 17-40L is weather sealed (as long as you have front filter on it) :D

I would exchange for a weather like that in a heart beat. You have no idea how bad too much sun is (for photos).

I actually think I got myself a problem today when I picked up the lens. I actually found a store that has several of the nice L lenses in stock  I need more money....

Scottes go easy on tommykjensen. The cost of those lenses in Europe is just out the roof. So don't dangle such goodies in front of him...he might have a heart attack or something.

Yeah You are right, when I was in the shop and saw those white lenses on the self I just hurried paying for the 17-40. I did not dare ask which leneses they had or what they cost - had I done that I might end up spending the money I am saving for my holliday next year
Just to shock You guys I paid a whopping $1090 for the lens, the price in B&H is just $690

I know what you mean tommykjensen.
While trying to find alternatives to buying the 100-400 from the US (was worried about it being damaged during shipment) I asked a European friend about the cost there. I was shocked when I heard the price.
