Were you going for a silhouette? It's not too bad but your subject isn't underexposed enough and the background is over exposed. Next time try metering the background and see what you get for a result. Do you mind if I take a whack at editing it?

Thanx for reply. This picture, and all the shots i have are straight out of camera. i dont really know how to fix photos too much yet and plan on learning soon.

I would actually love for u to show me what this could have looked like. Thanx for help.

Ok here is my rendition. I did this in Digital Photo Professional.

What I did was sharpen a bit, give it some more saturation and lower the brightness a little bit.

I think I may have over sharpened it though. The sharpening wasn't really needed in the first place.

Ok. I like this picture because of the little boy. Now what could be done to make it better?

Hmm, this one is tough. I think it's more of how you take the picture rather than editing it afterwards. As you can see the sign in front of the window is pretty blown out, there isn't really any texture to it. What you can do to help get this exposure correct is to meter the sign rather than the window. The picture would have come out underexposed but it seems to me that it's easier to fix an underexposed picture rather than an overexposed one. I'll see if there is anything I could do with it though.

How about cropping the photo to get rid of stuff thats not important?
Alot of people on this site said that there was tooo much going on.
how could i get rid of alot of that, how do u see it?

This was pretty tough as I expected but what I did was darken the street signs and the sign on the building. They kind of look dirty now but I think that could be fixed if I gave it some more time. I did this with GIMP by the way. It's a free alternative to Photoshop which I think everybody should try out.
Great shot by the way.
