I'm no PRO, but I think they look very nice...what lens were you using?

Violator, thanks for the look and comment. A 70-200 f4L was used for those shooting in the av mode @ f4. Thanks again for the comment. Pete

Pete, sometimes threads get skipped over so no need to worry about no posts. People seem to be in the full swing of b-ball right now. There's no EXIF so can't tell but...

In the first pic the highlights look blown out. Looking at the catchers face the skin tone is way off unless she's casper the friendly ghost. Jersey of the batter is the same and the motion blur on the bat/umps hands says its a low shutter speed.

In the second pic same problem, and you're also on the wrong side. Her butt shouldn't be the focus of the shot in sports pics. RHP get on the other side to get the action. From her hair it almost looks like there's more light on that side anyways.

So it can be done, shooting low light at f/4 - which seems to be your best is tough.

Well.........now I have mixed feelings...not about your shots...I've been pondering buying that lens.....but I am not in a place where I can shell out the $$ right now......so - I'm happy that it is a very nice lens - but I wish it weren't so I wouldn't be tempted to just slap it on the credit card and not look back.
Thanx again.

It is a very good lens, I would have liked to have gotten the 70-200 f2.8 but I could not handle that amount, o heck I could not handle the f4 but I have heard some good things about it and got it. I'll have to work until I'm 90 now. The 70-200 f4 & 17-40 f4 are the lens I use most often nice and clear not fast but clear. If the image is soft it's because of operator error. Thanks for your comments and the look. Pete:)

Thanks for the comments, I thought they were really bad. This is the first time doing this sport at night. f4 is the fastest zoom I have so until the lottery comes through that's my lens. As for being on the wrong side, this game was tough, lots of folks around, if I moved I lost the spot, I would have preferred to be on the 3rd base side and the ability to go back and forth. Just had to deal with it for this game, I hope to get better at this and I greatly appricate your comments. Thank you, Pete
