What happened to Zoom Browser?!? I took and uninstalled it and my CD went to guy who bought my 300D, can I still get it somewhere?
I got PS to open the new raw-files with new plugin but this fine piece of software "EOS Viewer Utility" won't even allow me to drag'n'drop photos to PS so I gotta keep it open to see the thumbs, look at their names and open pics separately, or what?

Not sure I understand what You are saying but PS CS browser does show thumbnails of cr2 files.

Canon used to have a program called Zoom Browser with it's cameras that was a lot easier to use in my opinion than the new one or PS's browser.

ZoomBrowser is no longer supported by Canon and won't even open or recognize the 20D CR2 file format. I discovered that after I installed the 20D software and notice ZB was missing. I reinstalled it from the DigiReb software only to find it does not work with the CR2 files. I too found this to work easiest for my workflow.

Hi, how are you today
I don't want to sound like the forum police or anything, but some people don't like terms like "WTF" that much.
Just a friendly reminder, thanks.

Couple of suggestions.
I've used ZB with my S30. I never really liked it, but I have used it. Based on what I've seen, let me offer a few suggestions.
First off, for a good thumbnail viewer so you can peruse your pictures before editing them, I suggest either using the one built into Windows XP (If you are using XP that is. Here's how: View menu -> Thumbnails). This first option assumes that you have some way to transfer the pictures from your CF card to your computer.
If that doesn't do what you would like, I suggest trying Picasa which is free and can be found here: http://www.picasa.com/picasa/. Picasa, is a great thumbnail/slideshow viewer, and it, also, allows you to download photos directly from your camera if you don't have a CF reader.
Also, for editing, Photoshop and Elements are both more than likely leaps and bounds over ZB in terms of options and ability.
Hope that helps.

Sorry, I never thought of it that way. To me wtf is just like rtfm (even cited in our American university Computer Networks course books). Same nasty "f" in there but both are extremely common in "web talk".

I do edit in PS. It was just that ZB was much better in terms of browsing, organizing and such. The one you had with your camera was probably the old version (multicolor folders on grey background). The new light blue one was a lot better.

- Give Picasa a shot. I think you'll really enjoy it.

Does it manage the new 20D raw-format?

Did you try the DPP software?
I kind of like that one,.
...but I know it sucks when you get used to one thing and then can't use it anymore.

I have been looking for responses to that question. DPP, Do you use it and like it or have you stayed with something you used previously? I am going to check out Bibble later today. Thanks.

Me? I use C1 and BB... but if DPP had been around when I got my 10D I may have never tried C1. Now I'm used to it :)

Can ZB handle RAW format? That I don't even know. To be honest, I've never messed with RAW images before. I just let the camera encode/compress them on the fly.
