I like the layout of the site. I do have a couple of suggestions, though. I use Firefox in place of IE, and some of your stuff doesn't render quite right in it. It wasn't anything horrible that I saw...mostly just text overlapping. Firefox is becoming more and more popular, though, so it might cause you to lose potential customers if they can't see your site properly.

It also looks like you could get rid of the Java stuff. I don't have Java loaded on my machine, and I could navigate your site just fine. I might be missing half of your site because of that, though, so I'm not sure. :D But if I could get around the site without even having it, it's probably not necessary, and it's good to eliminate unnecssary things in web design (in my opinion, anyway). I would also get rid of the ribbons at the bottom....I think that the bright colors distract from the scheme of the rest of your site.

Sorry for the drawn-out critique. I don't mean to make it sound like I don't like the site....I think overall it's very well-done, but I wanted to let you know my little nitpicks. :D

thanks for looking i will look into the JAVA and the other stuff but the ribbons MUST stay...

Autism awareness is more important to me than the look of the page. My eldest two sons are autistic.

I just havent gottne around to providing links to any autism sights but I feel its ignorant to watse an opportunity to make someone aware before they go though it themselves right now one out of every 250 kids under the age of 5 in the untied states fall in the sutistic spectrum and one in 91 kids in the UK

you can make the text smaller, and fit more on the page. Tex that large isnt really needed.

Aaah, OK. Sorry about that. I admit I didn't really actually look at what the ribbons *were* (shame on me), I just noticed they were there. Have you considered changing their colors to fit in more with your color scheme? I don't know if the colors of the ribbons are important or not. If it's not an issue, you might check into getting them closer to the rest of your page. If they need to stay that way, though, then by all means leave them. As you said, they're definitely something that should stay.

You may want to consider adding a more descriptive document title, not just using the file name. Example, you main page @ http://www.annsnelson.com/ document title is index.

The title of an HTML page helps site visitors keep track of what they're viewing asĀ*they browse, and it identifies the page in the visitor's history and bookmark lists. If you don't title a page, the page will appear in the browser window, bookmark lists, and history lists as Untitled Document. Note that giving the document a filename (by saving it) is not the same as giving the page a title.

Cheers
