Okay - other than being a photographer, what's your idea of the best job in the world?
Here's my vote:

These guys have the best job in the whole world. Go around, proving or disproving random stuff, blowing things up, building full-size remote control cars, etc., and the list goes on!
I would almost pay to do that job!
Beat that!

Since I retired and my wife is working I have taken over the kitchen and enjoy doing the cooking. I think being a chef would be cool. For a classy place not the local coffe shop or pancake house.

Writing.
Prior to my marriage, I would have said in a cabin with an uplink on a mountaintop. Now I would say a medium sized RV (with an uplink) so I can take her from one photo-birding site to another.

That was going to be my choice for my career when I got out of school. I was all registered for college and ready to go. A family friend got me a job in the kitchen of the Chateau Lake Louise (http://www.fairmont.com/LakeLouise/). I realized that I didn't like making 20 gallons of coleslaw or making 400 of the same desert. Sometimes I regret not going forward with this but I changed my mind and ended up working for an airline for 30 odd years. I enjoyed that alot.
If I had a chance to do it all over again and pick anything I wanted I am not sure I would do it any differently other than go to college/university first. The airline industry is a pretty cool place to work.

I am doing what I one thought would be the best job in the world. Genetics/biochemistry. Not so much the best job anymore.
I am, however, looking forward to my new job in September; father.

Given the chance to go back and start again, something in the sciences. Probably marine biology or meteorology.
I have to agree with this one too though. Who could resist building a Space Shuttle from a Reliant Robin? (http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=SIrgAXxVU7k&feature=related)
For me, a Top Gear host. No doubt about it.

The sooner that people realize that Jamie is really a robot, the non-violent prototype for the Terminator, the closer you would be to getting his job. Look at the evidence, Adam is ROFL like a normal human being and Jamie just stands there, he might deadpan a "good one " or something after a crazy cool explosion. He has to be a robot.

I gotta agree with the Mythbusters job. That would be very fun. But the ultimate I think is Phil Keoghan's job. He gets to travel the planet twice a year going from one exotic location to another on the companies coin.

paramedic...if you can get past the sick people, the angry people, the stupid people, the bad weather, the bad drivers, the bad roads, the missing meals, the missing holidays, the long hours, the low pay, the never being home on time, the danger of needles, the danger of catching whatever "they" have, the danger of pissing off the medical director, the stress of holding someone's life in your hand(s), the stress of not being able to do enough, the stress of keeping up your license and never being 100% sure you're coming home that night...it's the best job in the world - and I'm glad it's paying my bills (until the photography pays my bills, or my knees/back/nerves give out - which ever comes first)

My job right now is fine. I'm a lifeguard pool parties at an indoor pool. Most of the kids can swim, I've had to jump in and get quite a few kids that COULDN'T but for the most part it's easy. Unfortunately hot girls never come to the pool parties :(

I saw a clip on the new Indiana Jones website that made me think "Wow, how much fun would it be to be a director with a huge budget" I've never admired the job really, thought about how stressfull everything would be.. but in that one circumstance where you have a ton of money the whole thing seems like you're just doing it for fun.

I would have liked to have been a computer game designer starting back in the early days of personal computers. Now a days you need a big team of specialists to create a computer game but back then you could almost do it yourself.

I would love Samantha Brown's job from Passport to Europe or Great Hotels. Get paid to go to cool places, see stuff normal people don't get to, and stay in fancy hotels. Sounds like fun. Well, as long as I can bring my family and camera. ;)
