Has anyone from this forum tried the online photography classes offered by betterphoto.com or digiphoto.com? If so, I'm curious what your experience was like.
I have signed up for betterphoto's 12-week beginner's course, mainly because Jim Miotke was very responsive to the questions I emailed to him.
If you have any thoughts or comments, please reply. Heck, reply even if you don't. :)
TIA,

I ended the following post.....

Why don't we have one of the more senior members of this site run a sort of "Photographer's Eye" Workshop for the rest of us? Online!
SAFEGUARDING FORUM TRAINING INFORMATION:
**************************************
It seems to me that many posts on this forum have been "tutorials". I think that that kind of session should be preserved under a sub-forum. So too should other session summary data related to supporting software, etc etc. But it is up to the members to suggest and take leadership re such initiatives.
In practice, many members seem to focus on technical content rather than photographic training opportunities -- indeed many of their personal sites do not post images here. Perhaps this reflects their available time, interests and advanced photographic skills. I know that my own interest and time peaks throughout the year – if not the decade.
So, where does that leave the idea of online training etc. Well I do not know, but my sense today is that I will consider joining one of Ottawa's photography clubs rather than pursuing online training. For the latter I will continue to rely on you and other members.
