The sims 2 question

The girlfriend wants the the sims2 and the sims petz. Do I need both to run the sims pets. My brothers have the sims 2 they said I could install. WHat I want to know is with the expansions do they run off the PETS disk of the SIMS 2 disk?

A little help as I am going to the store for her tonite.

I know nothing about any sims, we talking memory sims? Some computers need a matching set to work.

She is already on the second section and 60% done when I left this morning at 9pm She has had it all day. so it is probally done.

According to my daughter,who by the way has them all,you need the Sims2 no matter what.Pets will not work by itself.When I look at all those boxes,I could have a new grip for my 20d.Painfull.Regards GORDO
