New DRebel.. First shoot of my girlfriend.

I just got my DRebel about two weeks ago, so I am learning a lot. Here is a shot I've posted on the Share/Critique forum, but I thought I'd post it here to so more people will look at it. I am proud of it actually, as I got what I was trying to do. I used direct flash and wanted a bleached out look to really bring out her eyes. What I got was quite a bit lighter than this, but I toyed with it a little in PhotoShop. I shot it using the kit lens. Any comments?
