The OMEY is for the 580EX and the OMEW is for the 430EX.

Don't forget about looking into a diffuser / reflector (http://abetterbouncecard.com/) that many say works better than any stoffen cup and costs 50 cents.

If you have a ceiling to bounce off, here's the old school way:

I'm a proponent of the 3x5 cards. Inexpensive and time-proven by many photogs.

If that's unappealing, I second Dan's suggestion of a A Better Bounce Card (http://www.abetterbouncecard.com).

You'll probably see less of a difference with a sto-fen...

I like mine but I'm looking into something new. After shooting a night wedding, ugh. Works good for everyday stuff though IMO. Just don't spend too much.

To me the difference was dramatic: $15 if you purchased the $15 stofen-type cup at BH, $30 if you purchase the actual $30 brand name sto-fen. ;)

I tried betterbounce card and guess what, side shadows when shooting verticles.unless you use the small "baby" card but that is just for closeups or portraits. I've never had any shadows using the lightsphere II clear, because it is not directional, lights up the entire room so light wraps around your subject.

Hmmm, never had that problem. If the bounce card is made correctly and affixed to the flash correctly and if the flash head is rotated / reoriented correctly to match the vertical shooting orientation it should work fine. Perhaps you could upload a picture of the betterbouncecard as it is mounted on the flash. /Dan
