Alfie unfortunately passed away recently, this picture just captures him perfectly, Not the best shot in technical terms but deffinatly my favourite shot of him. My parents now have a new one, a rescue, thats about 2 years old and completley hyper I havent met her yet, as I am in the US....

We just had to put down our 10 year old Golden / Chow, Bailey, on fri the feb 15.. it was a very sad day indeed.. we miss him immensly and wish he could come back home!

Look at all these GOOD Doggies! :)

Mine are/were mutts, half Retriever (mom was a pure bred breeder that got caught out in the yard by there Dad,.. ) half very dark colored German Shepherd.
Half the litter came out looking like long haired dark shepherds, half came out looking like short haired Retrievers.

I got two of the retrievers, Bumpus;

Bumpus passed a year and a half ago @ 15, Roo is still here @ 16.2 and keeps on ticking. :) These pics are within the last two-three years.

Retrievers are so gentle and caring, even if they want to chase something, within minutes they understand when they should not, (Roo spends a lot of time at my Sister's house where her pet Rabbit roams the house free, and Roo never bothers him)
Even when they did catch other animals (squirrels and Pidgeons alike,) all they would do was lick them :) !!!!

i have to admit im welling up reading this thread i miss my girl judy so much she was the best dog u could ever want.

so caring and intelligent, she was 13 when she passed but always my little puppy. i wish i was into photography when i had her have only got cheap disposable camera shots of her and no scanner

Lots of nice Golden's in here. I posted one in the 'My pet dog thread' then saw this one, so here he is again.

Someone metioned in a previous post that theirs was a rescue because the owners couldn't stand the hair, same story here i'm afraid...oh well, their loss, my gain...

Love the expressions on all the Goldens - Rusty, Frizby, Shasta, and Diesel. How any one could ever part with one after having them in their home is beyond me - but glad Diesel found a good home.

Hope it's okay to post a second shot of Beau ... testing the new 5DMII @ 3200 ISO, and got the classic "chin on the floor" Golden pose:

Here is our Allie in one her favorite spots; looking out the front door while sitting on the stairs. Sorry for the softness. Should have set the ISO higher, this 1/15 shot I wasn't still enough . Still trying to get back to SLR thinking after too many years with P&S! Hope the colors look right, some minor adjustments done on my laptop.
