I took this with my G5 camera. What could I have done to improve it? I wasn't this close, but cropped it using Jasc Paintshop Pro.

Hmmm ...
I thought she was much larger and a ship ....
but not bad, either.

(trying to come up with a joke involving "horse's ass")
we only see the posterior of the leading horse. maybe this is political commentary? ;-)
cropping an animal or person at an unnatural point is generally frowned upon -- of course there are cases where it adds to the photo, but i don't feel this is one of them.
i'd prefer to either see her whole "vehicle" (horse included), or a tight shot of just her and her "driver" -- maybe just their torsos and heads, with a wide aperture to blur the background even more. not sure if you can get a wide enough aperture to do this with a G5.

btw, the "driver" sitting next to her is her husband, the Duke of England ;)

Actually his titles include Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth and Baron Greenwich

And Phil the Greek to his friends

Or to be formal:-
Philip Mountbatten (or Schleiswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glucksburg)
Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth, Baron Greenwich
Knight of the Thistle; Order of Merit;
but you are quite correct Phil the Greek wins by a mile......
(tugs forelock and retires (backwards)...............

8)
I would actually like to see it cropped even closer to eliminate rider and horse's butt.

I think the large version is best.
Maybe work a bit on cropping (too much green on top) and put it straight.
The first one is so-so.
The last one is too pixelated. If she was doing something more interesting, you might be able to sell it to a tabloid.
Best regards,
Andy
