Any ideas on why I am getting a ghost type outline around part of subjects when shooting outdoors? There
is nothing but the great outdoors around so its not reflections. The average distance from subject is 8 to 10 feet.

Just curious: are the shots in question aimed at all toward the sun, maybe picking up strong light rays through the lens? Is it on all shots outdoors, or just under certain conditions? Maybe do some experimenting and let us know more details about when it happens.

Jim, the shots in question were all taken outdoors at night with no obvious strong light sources or reflective surfaces apparent.

Dungeon, You got me baffled, but I don't have much experience with flashes. I recommend you repost your question either in the section for the specific type camera you have, or in the "Talk about Photography" section. All those seem to get more attention than this one.

Is it possible that you are using the "night mode" (slow shutter sync.) on your camera? If so, you will see ghosting on subjects that aren't perfectly still since the shutter is staying open longer to try to expose the background.
