I'm planning to make a purchase on 300mm 2.8 IS, and would like to find best price for it with possible payment plans.

So far, the best price I've found is warehouseexpress and park cameras, £3,299, and there is a payment plan with warehouseexpress. Jessops retail this lens at £4,019!!!

Do you know any other retailer/pro dealer that offer a better price?

oh, found one on ebay going at £2,599+£66 shipping from HK, put duty/tax on top, it'll be easily over the top.

Thanks for your time!

After searching round for the sigma 70-200 f2.8 and other bits, the best price I found with a decent payment plan (9months 0%), I plumbed for Warehouse Express. Jessops do apparently do a price match, not sure whether it apples to online retailers like Warehouse.

Does Jessops do interest free credit purchases?

I was in a jessops store about six weeks ago, and I think all they were offering then was 0% on cameras over £150.

To be honest 3299 is a very good deal and I can't find it cheaper anywhere I know.

Plus warehouse express are really good on service too. My 20D will be coming from there.

I bought mine from Warehouse Express and I only have praise for them. Prices are fair, they hold stock and deliver next day. They have seen a lot of my credit card in the last two years and I even use them for my Canon ink cartridges and Tetenal paper (best in my opinion).

If you go for the 300 2.8IS may I suggest the Velbon Pro-8 monopod if you don't have a decent CF one to take the weight already. They have them on offer for £89.

No connection, just one very happy customer over the last few years.

thanks for everyone's replies, seems warehouseexpress it is for my next purchase.

I'll phone them up tomorrow(if they open) to have a chat and probably place order within next week(not sure i'll be able to get interest free credit for being a student ...)

Kenny, thanks for the recommendation, but I already have a Manfrotto 680 professional monopod, i usually use 400mm 2.8 IS on it, it supports up to 8kg, very compact, not heavy at all, and it only cost me £35 :D

I would also offer nothing but praise for Warehouse Express, most of my kitt has come from them. The only thing I ordered from Jessops showed as in stock but then took 10 days to get to me. If WE are out of stock they let you know and then ring when it is in and dispatched but mostly stuff arrives the next day and is very well packed.

Hi sGu - Jessops do price match off internet sites as long as the stock is available on the internet site - they have price matched for myself and Laura on a couple of occasions. Print the details off from the internet and take it in - Jessops will normally check the item is in stock with the internet site.

Good luck.

Adorama are selling it for $3749.00 ( £2078.08 ). Add shipping charges and import duty and you should expect to pay £2700 ish

That might be cheaper, but I don't have £3k to spend at the moment, so it has to be a payment plan, hopefully interests free credit

The way I understand it (and I hope I'm right), is that you should expect to pay about 25% tax all told. Or to break it down 17.5% tax and 6% customs / import tax.

UPS has mine at the moment & I should be getting it really soon! :D

I wonder what it feels like to have money actually in your bank, so you can buy things you want, when you want it ...
