Ok, tell me if anyone has had this problem from a CF card (I'll tell you where I was taking pictures at the end).
I was using one of my regular CF cards today to shoot some pictures. The card had worked just fine before today and even after I was shooting at this particular place. After the specific shooting event though I experienced all kinds of problems in getting the pictures from the card to my hard drive (and even view several of the pictures). I had to reboot six times due to system locks (on a very reliable system I might add). I lost several pictures from this event, no matter what I tried the same few were always very corrupt and locked my computer somehow. Has anyone else experienced this?
Another odd thing is so far in the 1500 or so pictures I've taken with my 300d most all of the pictures have been around 2-3.5 megs. Nothing really more. Now, the pictures from this event are mostly 4-5.5 megs (with absolutely no changes within the camera).
So where was I shooting? At a National Park dedicated to a particularly bloody Civil War battle. I found out shortly after that this place is known to have many odd things going on within it (I'll let you all use your imaginations on this). I hiked down a rough and harsh trail to a very remote place that (I learned after) had most of the fighting. It was at this place I had most of the problems with the pictures (I should note this was after I had some 'experiences' that made me want to leave quickly). Of all the pictures I took down there in that particular place only one came out (out of about 20, all the others were so badly corrupted they couldn't be viewed at all). I'm not joking about this, I'm very serious. It's a place I'm not comfortable ever going again (and I've been in Federal Law Enforcement for many years!).
So, any ideas? Have you ever had a seemingly fine CF card exhibit such problems? And even lock up a computer six times? Just wondering.
