Hello all and thank you in advance for helping me out.

I am a newbie to these forums and would like to see if you people can help me out?

I purchased a A75 about 2 months ago and love it so much that I have purchased a tripod, lens adapter, and the wide angle lens for it.

Couple of questions, hope you guys/gals can help me.

1) Can I only purchase Canon lenses for my camera or can I purcase different makes? Will they fit with the Canon adapter?

2) In the manual it states that I have to set the camera to the wide angle end when using the wide converter, what do this actually mean? Can I use the converter in all modes?

Please help as I really want to experiment with the wide lens soon as I am chomping at the bit here to use it.

3) Also, can you add pics to your posts on this forum??

Thank you to all that help,

Curtis

1) If you can find a third part lens for the camera, most likely they will work fine. Many earlier A-series cameras worked fine with third party lenses.

2) Wide angle means no zoom. In other words, it only works if you don't zoom at all.

3) Yes, but it is discouraged unless absolutely necessary. It's better to include a link instead.

1. Canon lenses have excellent quality. Other brands may or may not work well depending on the quality of the lens and how close or far it is mounted to the lens. Some lenses may require a space ring to work well.

2. You can zoom with a wide angle attached. With many telephoto lenses attached you may get darkening in the corners went you zoom too wide angle.

If you put a .6x wide angle adapter on it (for instance) you will get roughly 21 mm to 63 mm lens (35 mm equiv). My experience is that there will be a little vignetting at the wide-angle side. But when you add greater focial length th evignettinggoes away.

You will love to play with the wide angle lens. You sound like a wide angle person.
